My name is Franciska Howard and art is my passion.
I have been attending weekly art lessons with William Kerr since 2009 and I have also undertaken some workshops with Kasey Sealy, Ray Hewitt, David Payne and Caroline Lewellen. During covid when we were all in lock down, I was lucky enough to attend some zoom classes with Ben Winspear. I also have learnt a great deal from viewing You Tube.
I paint mainly with oils and occasionally I have tried pastel painting.
I am fortunate to live in such an inspiring locale that gives me a variety of subject matters to paint from such as Skeleton Creek, and Newport Lakes which also attracts a lot of wildlife to the area, and lets not forget Altona and Williamstown Beach which attracts crowds of people, especially in the summer months. There's also the Williamstown Botanical Gardens with its pond, lush grass and large established trees. As well as that Williamstown was established as the original port of Melbourne in 1835, so you can imagine the history this place holds.
I am striving to paint paintings that capture the subject matter in a not so formal way, and to use broken colour. I will continue on this journey and hopefully hone my skills. As they say practise makes perfect.
