ARTIST BIO

I started drawing in 2010 at the age of 43, after a series of conversations with a composer/musician who was a friend of a friend from the 1990s.  This idea to draw has led to a portfolio of hundreds of sketches and paintings, drawn in Canberra (my former home town) and also as part of field trips I have undertaken to Outback Australia, Tasmania and Overseas (China, Vietnam, Russia, Mongolia, Budapest, Istanbul, Tibet).

Living in Gippsland, Victoria in 2013, I continued on with Art, whilst completing an honours year in sociology (Folk music in the community: soundscapes and meaning).

In 2014, I re-located to Launceston, Tasmania as a sea/tree change, continuing my practice in studio, and graduate studies in community folk music, and the Bhutanese migrant community.  --- In 2018  now, I plan to live in Melbourne for a year, and then teach English in Asia for many years- continuing the art as a journey.

I have now re-located to Melbourne (Bundoora), where I am completing a Phd in migration studies part-time.

In 2017 I had three exhibitions in Tasmania (Hobart Art Society - Waterways Exhibition; Wellways  - Minds Do Matter Exhibition, Launceston; Northen Midlands Art Exhibition, Longford TAS). Three framed paintings of the Esk River, were excepted 'on-commission', in the Tasmanian Artisan Shop, Launceston.
